The Matrix and School

by Aaron on Feb.22, 2009, under Random Thoughts

Mom and dad say I don’t tell them enough about my life and what I’m doing at work, school, etc.  Perhaps they’re right, perhaps they’re not.  In any event, I thought I’d share a small tidbit of what I’ve been doing in school recently.

This was a project for my Visual Effects Lighting class.  We had to take a background template from “The Matrix” and insert a foreground element.  This original shot was just the man (Neo) sitting on the bench, I added the girl who was shot in front of a green screen.  Some of the effects to make this shot look real our slight reflections in the floor tiles, and a shadow on the column as she walks by.  These are small details in this composite, but they help sell the shot as real.  The shot is very short, but it’s all the footage I was given to work with.  Press the “full screen” option and watch it a few times to get the full effect.  Check it out:

Ha ha, thanks Amy! This one is WAY (again, please yell that) short. I was only given a few seconds of footage to work with. I have many more projects that are much longer and more enjoyable ;) I’ll be posting those as soon as I find them in the mess of hard drives floating around my house.

Great Cinematography and visual rendition of the matrix scene! You’ll have to post more of your past projects, as well as future ones!!!
