The Matrix and School
by Aaron on Feb.22, 2009, under Random Thoughts
Mom and dad say I don’t tell them enough about my life and what I’m doing at work, school, etc. Perhaps they’re right, perhaps they’re not. In any event, I thought I’d share a small tidbit of what I’ve been doing in school recently.
This was a project for my Visual Effects Lighting class. We had to take a background template from “The Matrix” and insert a foreground element. This original shot was just the man (Neo) sitting on the bench, I added the girl who was shot in front of a green screen. Some of the effects to make this shot look real our slight reflections in the floor tiles, and a shadow on the column as she walks by. These are small details in this composite, but they help sell the shot as real. The shot is very short, but it’s all the footage I was given to work with. Press the “full screen” option and watch it a few times to get the full effect. Check it out:
Shayla’s Blog
by Aaron on Feb.22, 2009, under Random Thoughts
In the midst of my passionate fight against Myspace and Facebook I have created a blog for Shayla to call her very own. You can find it it here. I have also added a permanent link in the link’s section of this site. Let’s hope she can figure out the not-so-complex complexities of the WordPress Dashboard and start posting for all the world to see. Make us proud Shayla…
P.S. The pic of her in the header of her site was all my doing. That’s right…
So it begins…

I have traditionally found activities like blogging or whoring of your thoughts and emotions in any type of online forum to be distasteful. However, time and some smart, yet blog-friendly people in my life have changed that opinion. You’ll never find me wasting my time on anything like Myspace or Facebook, but a blog is something I’ve decided I can deal with.
Truth be told, I don’t really care if anyone reads this blog (insert question: “Then why did you make this blog, Aaron?”). Well, I’m glad you asked; yet again, I don’t really care if you asked, because I don’t care if you are reading this. In any event, the answer to that question goes a little something like this:
“I made this blog because I have a lot of crap running through my mind at any given time. I see a lot of great things in this world, however, I also see a lot of nonsense and people tend to generally piss me off (more on that later). This is a great forum for me to release my ideas, anger, and hopes for my life and this beautiful world I live in. Placing my comments and thoughts online allows anyone who for whatever reason decides they care, to listen and pipe in as they see fit. Also, this blog may eventually become an online video library and reel for my career in Video Production, Editing and Effects.”
So there is your answer, and with that we are off on our journey to God knows where…
P.S. More to come on “God”…and bless my mother, she’s a pastor.
